City Council held a workshop on George Scott's idea for Henley street. I personally do not support his idea moving forward for a couple of reasons.
*I am not in favor of permanently cutting off the businesses that are currently being affected by the closure.
*This would eventually make Moody a commercial zone and I do not support uprooting folks that have lived in their homes on Moody for years.
This weeks City Council meeting will decide if the Mayor's budget will pass on second reading. I support the budget as presented with no amendments. Also on the agenda is the Hillside Ridgetop issue. I anticipate this to be postponed. We discussed this at our monthly "sun shined" dinner and instructed VM Bailey to contact Mike Hammond for a possible ad hoc committee to be formed to further discuss the issue.
