City Council Update
June 4, 2011-We had a relatively quiet Council meeting this week. The highlight was appointing the members of the Pension Board. The City representatives form the Fire, Police, and the non uniformed bodies are yet to be named but will be soon. They are tasked with studying the current pension plan and making recommendations to the new mayor and council at some point in the future. FEMA representatives will be here as soon as Monday or Tuesday to assist those qualifying for relief due to the recent storms. They will be located at the Optimist Club building located in Gary Underwood Park. They will be here for a month. I will share more information as it becomes available. The joint City and County workshop on hillside and ridge tops is scheduled for this Thursday at 5 in the large assembly room in the City County building.
