Knoxville District 1 News
More Greenway Space for the 1st District and more!
July 14-The First District is getting more greenway space. At the last Council meeting we have approval for expansion of our greenway system by 9500 feet.
BACKGROUND
Knox Blount Greenway is a linear park-like project that connects the City's Neyland Drive Greenway to Marine Park. This is Phase I of a project that will eventually connect the City's greenway system to the City of Alcoa and Maryville greenways. Phase II will extend the greenway from Marine Park to the Knox County line along Alcoa Highway. This is great news for South Knoxville and the city as a whole.
Mark your calendars for August 9 at 10:30 for the ribbon cutting for the 15 mile Wilderness Trail that is right here in our backyards. More to come on the location for the ribbon cutting.
South Knoxville businesses you are invited to the meeting of the Downtown South Business Association being held July 28 beginning at 6:30. The meeting will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church located at 6632 Chapman Highway. Hope to see you there.
