I urge you to take a visit through the Vestal business district and take note of the improvements Scott Romines has made to the businesses abutting Pease Furniture. Scott is a native South Knoxvillian and has made a significant investment in the community he loves. This area is attracting many new businesses and is adding jobs and more folks visiting us. Thanks to Scott and his family.

The South Knoxville library located on Chapman Highway will reopen after storm damage this Monday. A magician will perform at 4:30 followed by music from 6-7:30. Please feel free to drop by and visit the newly renovated library.

The South Knoxville fall festival is still being planned and should be quite the affair for everyone to enjoy. As the plans are finalized I will keep you informed of times and date.

I am investigating the idea of a farmers market for South Knoxville for next year’s growing season.  I would also like your ideas on groups or events we could lure to South Knoxville to hold their events. We certainly want as many folks as possible visiting our businesses during the bridge closure and beyond the reopening.

We are getting very close to the ribbon cutting on the new fire station on Chapman Highway and the Pet Safe Dog Park to be located at Charter Doyle Park. More to come on that very soon.
