New Entry

Hello and thank you for visiting my site,

We have just about made it through January (come on April) and it seems we are all back in the groove. I have enjoyed attending the various neighborhood groups that are reconvening after the Holiday season. Of particular note is the Urban Wilderness Arts & Trade District meeting this past Monday. There is so much positive energy coming from this group it is heartwarming. Instead of kicking the dirt due to the bridge closure, they are taking matters into their own hands and creating discount cards for shoppers, creating a website, and canvassasing businesses door to door to increase membership. It is working, the past meetings have garnered several new faces and increases the strength of the growing organization. Remember to shop South and help our merchants during the bridge closure and beyond.

We are moving along now as the new councl and held our first offical meeting - all went very smoothly. Mayor Rogero did a very professional job of running the meeting and I am excited about the new team. I have heard time and again that this is one of, if not, the strongest Council we have had. We are having a visioning workshop Saturday the 4th of February from 9-2. Later that evening Joy and I are hosting the Council, Mayor, Bill (hopefully Gay if schedules allows) and Eddie Mannis for a social gathering at our home. There is no cost to the tax payer. This new Council believes it is very important we find the path we want to go down as a Council. It is also important for us to get to know each other and their significant other or spouse too.

Thursday the 19th we trimmed the candidates for the Council attorney down to the top five candidates. We had a stellar field of candidates but had to trim the field. We meet Monday the 24th to interview and hopefully select the new Council attorney. Keeping in mind, I have to find common ground with the selected applicant and bring a contract forward to Council that meets the successful applicant needs and the tax payers needs.

That's about it for now, and as always, feel free to reach out to me personally at 454-7216.

Thanks,

Nick
